It’s something that so many of us let fall to the wayside, but staying hydrated is one of the best ways to stay healthy, happy and productive during a busy day. Whether it’s steamy outside and you’ve been running around all day, or it’s winter and you’re stuck in the office, keeping on top of our hydration levels can make a world of difference to the way we feel. Here’s our top tips for staying hydrated during even the busiest of days:
Invest in a good quality water bottle
It all starts here – with a busy life, comes an active and varied day, so make sure you invest in a good quality water bottle to port your water around all day. For a lot of people, staying hydrated comes down to convenience, so keep a big bottle of H2O in your bag at all times and say goodbye to dehydration!
Log it
It’s not going to be something you’ll have to track forever, but if you’re struggling to up your water intake on a daily basis then you might want to consider tracking or logging it. It doesn’t matter how you choose to log it – whether you note down every time you have a drink, or you’re simply logging how many times you refill your bottle, the aim of the game is to increase your awareness surrounding it.
Time it
For those really sitting on struggle street with staying hydrated, you should consider setting little alarms throughout the day to remind you to take a sip of water. Not only does this help you stay hydrated, but it will also eventually form habits that you’re bound to continue after the alarms fade.
Have a glass before each meal
For those who can’t find the convenience of sipping on water during the day (or those who are super forgetful), drinking a glass of water before each meal is a wonderful way to keep up your hydration levels without putting too much thought into it. Not only will this keep your water intake up, but it might also stop you from overeating, too!
Mix it up
Water is ultimately the best way to stay hydrated, but for those who find it a little boring or bland, why not mix it up a bit? There are so many great hydration helping drinks on the market today, just make sure you’re choosing one without boatloads of added sugar.
